Fruit Cake Cookies
1 cup margarine or Crisco
2 eggs
4 cups sifted flour
1 tsp. salt
2 cups chopped Pecans
2 cups diced candied Cherries
2 cups diced Dates
1 box light or dark brown sugar
1/2 cup buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. Baking powder
Mix together shortening, eggs and brown sugar;
Add buttermilk; mix well
Sift together dry ingredients and stir in
Mix in Pecans, Dates and Cherries;
Chill for 1 hour
Drop by teaspoonfuls about 2' apart onto lightly greased baking sheet
Bake at 400 degrees for 10-12 minutes
Makes about 100 cookies
